Welcome to the Capital of Baltic Marathons, Riga!
35,000 participants from nearly 70 countries ensure that the Lattelecom Riga Marathon is one of the most ambitious public sporting events in the Baltics. We are proud that year on year, an increasing number of people from many countries run the Riga marathon - in 2017 over 3000 runners from overseas will run with us!
Why? The Lattelecom Riga Marathon is the only marathon in Northern Europe and one of only around fifty worldwide with the prestigious IAAF Label Road Race quality mark. The trump cards of Latvia’s capital are enjoyable cultural life, concerts and exhibitions, architecture, water features and beautiful views which we try to include on the marathon route, gastronomy and great restaurants, and a thrilling history. Riga also has a long-running tradition - the marathon movement in Riga began in 1991.
See you at the Radisson Blu Parade of Nations on 13 May!
The Radisson Blu Parade of Nations gives the marathon weekend a special celebratory atmosphere - a symbolic parade of Lattelecom Riga Marathon participants accompanied by orchestral music from the Freedom Monument to the marathon finishing zone on 11 Novembra Krastmala. It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet runners from other countries and top up your store of international endorphins before the big start on Sunday!
When? Saturday 13 May. Meet at the Freedom Monument from 14:30. The parade begins at 15:00.
Where? Along the closing kilometre of the marathon from the Freedom Monument to 11 Novembra Krastmala.
